A House of Prayer
"I lift my eyes up to the hills-where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord the Maker of Heaven and Earth'
He will not let your foot slip He who watches over you will not slumber
Indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."
Psalm 121: 1-2
The Lord desires His people to be effective communicators. When we are able to fully communicate, we are able to fully understand. Prayer is the Lord's form of communication to the Father. In the model prayer, Jesus, taught the disciples how to pray and what to pray for. While in prayer, the Spirit helps in our weakness.
"For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God." Romans 8:26-27.
We will explore further what Jesus desires of us in our prayer life and rejoice as David did in answered prayer.
"Blessed be the Lord, Because He has heard the voice of my supplications! The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him." Psalm 28:6-7
Our weekly prayer meetings will be a time for us to grow closer to the Lord and to one another. We will give thanks to the Lord for all He has done and encourage each other in the Way.
"Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, But in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4-7
